looking to build a powerful set up

stock 302 block (nothing more)
z-cam
catted x-pipe
shorty headers
cherry bomb muffs
cold air intake

it will be an automatic tranny ill be going with the b&m auto shifter route + shift-kit

im new to mods i just want to hear opinions on this set up how much hp will i be getting out of this? if this set up doesnt sound right what should i go with? what brands should i go with? (cherry bombs is a must for me) list a good set up for me i want as much power as i can get with the stock block (non-supercharged non-turbo) and this will be my daily car i want enough power to show up all these damn gm and ricer guys out here in the bay area that try to test me out of no-where

THANKS! :nice:

are they paying you to run cherry bombs?!!?

much better exhaust set ups out there. with stock heads/intake I wouldnt even bother with the Z-cam unless you just want a pricey noise maker.

If you want a cam with a stock bottom end, nothing more, get the E-cam. This cam has about .498 lift and will work good in a nearly stock car. The Z-cam will be too much.

Forget the cold-air, on a nearly stock car it will almost nothing.

I like the catted X and shorty headers, but lose the Cherry bombs. You can pick up some good mufflers like DynoMax's or MagnaFlow's for just a little more.

The best thing I can tell you is to decide what you want from the car. From the list you have made, it seems you want something that makes alot of noise. And if that is what you want, fine. I know, from my personal experience, once you start modding your car you will want to keep modding your car. If this is the route you want to go, then you need to do alot of research and decide on a plan, and what works for you. The only way to really go fast is to build the motor from the inside out. If it were me, I would do a cam and heads before I ever did a cold-air or cherry bombs.

If your looking for more power do a HCI (heads cam intake) the mods your got wont give you much more than a loud car that will jerk the hell out of you with that cam. You have to check poiston clearance on the z cam because it is such a high lift on a stock motor.

552 lift is ridiculous for a stock motor, and not possible to run on the stock e7s, as for the cherry bombs, unless you drive an s10 extreme dont put cherry bombs on anything
cold air on a stock motor will give you no noticable horsepower gain and the z cam will definitly make your car SLOWER, horsepower wise it will be slower than stock, leave out the cam and that set up with net you around 230-235 hp

Why are cherry bombs a must? and what year stang is it?

mac shorty p headers
x pipe
pick up a gt40 intake and gt40p heads and a tfs stage 1 cam instead of the z cam
get some magnaflows or some flowmasters roughly same price
and id get either an anderson power pipe or pick up a bbk cai
and a tune. its a little more expensive than your set up but trust me once you start building theres no stopping and your better off going ahead and getting the good stuff instead of regreting cherry bombs and an alphabet cam
if your looking for a mean sounding stang like it seems like you are you will like this set up a lot better and notice a pretty decent power gain
and if your running AOD id seriously look into getting some 4.10s, youll have a fairly rowdy car that will roll on some ricers

I agree with these guys, I wouldn't put cherry bombs in the toilet! I've heard them before and they are obnoxious! They make a nice roller motor sound like a chevy with straight pipes and glass packs. No cold air intake, waste of $. Do what was mentioned above. A nice GT40 set up with an E-cam, or even B-cam. Gears, chassis stiffening. Done
