Since I bought my '05, my hood shakes like crazy at high speed. It almost seems like it is going to come flying off. I have had the Saleen SB fix applied back in January that actually prevents the hood from flying-off, but it still moves around/vibrates to no end.

Does anyone else have this problem??

Anyone know where I can but real hood pin locks, not the 3M stick-ons?

Well, I found some Ford Racing Hood Pins for $32 at BuyFord Racing.com; guess I'll order those.

It may be the rubber stoppers on the sides.

Me personally, i hate hood pins, they look like crap.

I'd use zeus fasteners if possible.

They are the little flat head screws that are spring loaded that go along the edge.
Twist and push to lock.
Much less intrusive visually.

Billy,

Don't hack your hood with those pins. If you have to get some white ones. I have an 06 bumper number in the 200's and have the stock (non s/c) plastic hood and have not seen any problems up to 120 or so.

Maybe go to the dealer and check out the newer cars and see if you can visually see any differences in how they latch and how they sit on the bump adjustments like Joe said.

This has been a common complaint on the fiberglass hoods.

The new Saleens all come with aluminum hoods standard now, which supposedly fixes the issue.

Yup, that's the deal. I had a 2006 SC up to 140 and it was rock solid with the new hood. Make sure the hood bumpers are nice and tight. I know for my hood it is pretty tough to close it and latch it but this creates a tight fit.

Thanks for all the info, everyone!

I have backed the hood stops out to the point where my hood won't align with the fenders and there is still some moving around going on.

What are the Zeus fasteners like and how do they work?
