After dicking around with these crappy 50resto pads, I would like to find an alternative. The 50resto ones look like garbage due to the way they *cough*fit*cough*, and securing them is a nightmare.

I tried used OEM, but finding black or a set that is in decent condition is hard. So I am trying to either find another company that makes better reproductions no luck yet), or trying to come up with an idea on how to make them myself.

I am thinking of using a thick, hard, foam and covering it with cloth of some sort. Anybody have any other suggestions or ideas?

I just put mine on from 50 resto. Yes, they fit like garbage, and how they "grab" the metal to work inside the pad is horse feathers also. I used all my stock hardware and I think every screw is only grabbing a thread or 2 but its holding for now and looks better than my stock one which was cracked and foam was falling everywhere.

I installed the 5.0 Resto armrests pads. I took my time and predrilled the pads and they fit great. You cant rush it. Pull them in place real tight while you predrill and they'll be good.

Yep, I clamped mine in place with several small C clamps. Used some shims between the armrest and the clamp to make sure I didn't mess up the surface of the armrest and pre-drilled them. No problems so far and they have held up fine for over a year.
