What are you running for a fuel pump ?

new stock pump, gauge shows some 5-6 psi at the carb

It may need a regulator still, or there's a problem with the float(s) Or a piece of trash in the needle/seat. Have the needle/seats been changed recently ?

are you running electronic ignition ?(duraspark etc....) if you are switch the 2 wires from the dist and reset timing.

Just wondering if it works with holley to bend the float arm to somewhat leaner the mixture so that the fuel level is lower than the sight plug.

What is changing wires at the distributor for?

Don't bend the float arm. You may also have the wrong powervalve or a ruptured power valve. Should be a 6.5 in there.

PV seems OK. the engine shuts down when idle mixture screws are all the way in. 4777-2 is just made to run rich as it is a racing carb. Will 64 or even 60 jets work w/o redrilling PVCRs (67 is OE size on primaries)?
