Ok, so I was just taking a little drive up to my work truck to get my dmm tonight, and this little pissssant in a volvo turbo (remember I am right around NC State) tries to race me. I blow him away off the line up to the 45mph speed limit and drive normally after the short launch. This doushebag continues to try and eff with me and given that I have two beers in me I said "you just arn't even worth my risk/time/effort". I let him pass and cut behind him and made my turn off. What do you all do in this kinda situation?

Well first off I don't drive after two beers. I typically ignore people trying to race me and let them wonder what if.

Its not worth jail or worse in either case.

What I would like to do... run them off the road
What I actually do... Nothing, not worth the consequence. I'll stick to racing at the track, I have too much to lose doing something stupid on the street.

If he wasn't worth the risk/time/effort, then why did you race him the first time? Seemed like he was at first, until you showed your masculinity and beat him. If he would have beat you the first time, would you have tried it again?

What I do in those situations... I look over, give them a smirk and shake my head, then continue driving.

I think when posts like these pop up, people should drop their judgment and post if they're relevant to his story.

Anyways, I do just about that. I'll go up until the speed limit, maybe 5 over, but not more unless it's the highway.
I never am the one to start the little 'race.' It's always someone else.
Since I've been driving my mustang again, I forgot how many A-holes who see my car drive by in a low gear ricer with a fart cannon to get my attention at intersections or on the road.

Berate him for driving a Volvo with any serious intent for starters.

Thats a car I wouldn't mind. I almost got one, guy wanted to trade me his for my 09 CBR600RR two years ago, but insurance would have been too expensive, so I had to pass on it.

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

s60r is a serious machine that would be phenomenal on a road coarse. parts and insurance is sky high though. I got over the urge to street race those little pukes a long time ago. Most people miss a green light staring at my car anyway. actually having to race them would be a joke.

Last year I was taking my
iron horse for a gallop. I was at a light when a nissan 4 door fanily car with one of those fart pipes on it pulls up next to me an starts reving his little 4 banger. He looks at me, he's about 19 and has no clue what I have under the hood. So I make out like I'm going to run him. He floors it and I make the turn. I can't see chancing breaking something running
against a car lke that. No contest!

My rule: if you can't do it with both drivers still smiling and laughing, it's not worth it. Not that this is my only rule - I just do "acceleration races" like you did, but if it gets serious for either party, he or she should take it to the track.

I usually just race them, and if they get past me, i wait until there is a school bus picking up some kids to do a ricer flyby, throw the hazards on, middle finger out the window, scaring children.

Back when I was younger, I'd race on the street all the time. Now that I am older and "wiser", I just laugh at the kids who pull up to me and want to race. I tell them to meet me at PRI if they want to race. I've seen to many wrecked cars and suspended licenses over the years to even think of street racing.
