Blah blah blah.... what a bunch of Nancys.

I can recall in my younger days, stepping on the gas and doing stupid chit for what... I don't even recall anymore. Do it and run the risk of getting nailed. I had the driving record to prove it. At one point it nearly cost me my license. It did cost me a ton of money though. Telling someone not to street race is like trying to tell a teenage kid to not have sex. They'll continue to do it until it costs them something. It might be a license, insurance, or maybe an impounded car. It could even cost the experience of hitting something or someone. It's all fun and games until the bill comes due.

What does that have to do with street racing? Last I remember, this forum doesn't condone street racing. I am just letting the OP know, he did break the law, when he stated he didn't. I was unaware I wasn't allowed to do this. I will make sure I check my posts, and get your approval from here on out, ok captain?

Racing is meant for the track, not the street.

Yeah,...maybe you should read some of my earlier stuff, All sourced from my days spent in Omaha. Hanging out in the National Auto Parts Parking lot across from McDonalds at 84th and Dodge.
Street racing was alive and well in that city, and it's ugly step sister Council Bluffs IA. back then, and I would imagine it to still be true today.
I did direct my first post at comments like you made against street racing in my first reply. Comments made like yours do come off as bogus when you are on a forum like this one, especially when you are trashing OP dude for racing, citing all of the "laws he broke" then later admitting you yourself have street raced in the past.
Kind of comes off as telling somebody they have bad breath, their fly is open, or they were stupid for using a 4.5" angle grinder w/o the guard when the blade blew up and just about put his eye out.

All may be true,....but hardly ever appreciated.

I was 16 years old when I use to "street race". My posts have nothing to do with the OP street racing. I simply stated in my first post, that obviously the kid was worth his time, if he raced him in the first place, to the speed limit. He then said he didn't break any laws, not to just me but the others who stated he shouldn't have been. I explained what laws he had broken. That's it. Then 90lxcoupe had to come and try to put me in my "place". I wasn't harping on the OP about street racing, I was just explaining, what he thought was legal, was actually not. He could very well have been pulled over and cited for those charges and lost his license, depend on the state he lives in. Maybe I was trying to make the OP aware of them, if he wasn't prior, and make him think twice before "racing to the speed limit".

I got pulled over for "speeding" up to the speed limit when I was 18. No cars around me, tires never broke loose, but the cop pulled me over and gave me an exhibition of speed ticket. For goodness sake, the cop was right behind me, why would I do such a foolish thing? I fought it in court and had it dropped, as the cop only pulled me over because I drove a car that was lowered with rims. There were other bogus citations on the ticket as well, which helped my case. (Aftermarket exhaust which had a cat and resonator)

I could care less if someone street races, and I am not going to harp on someone for doing so. I don't race on the street, as I had a friend who was a casualty to his friend doing this. Unfortunately he was in a coma for 2 weeks before the plug got pulled on him. I just leave it to the track.

This crap happens at least once everytime i take the stang out.Its never anythink worth racing either, always some punk with a fart can import.I just ignore them.I did scare the crap out of a kid in a 2010 camaro,we both left the light and he didnt want me to pass him because everytime i sped up he did,i downshifted to first and hammered the gas and went by him sideways.....he jumped in his seat and the look on his face was priceless,i still laugh at his reaction.
