Drag radial questions....

Just looking for opinions on the M/T Street Radial Tires. Anyone run them or know their performance? I know most people run nittos, how do these compare?

I would run the M/T ET Street but i dont want to bring on any broken axles before im ready financially to replace them , so how do BFG, Nitto, and M/T compare? I think i read that BFG's give a little better traction but dont last as long as Nittos. So i was just wondering how the M/T Street radials performed cause they are right there in terms of price but i have not heard about them.

I tried both the BFG and Nitto DR's and I liked the Nittos a lot better. My next tire is going to be the ET Streets.

I'm just the oposite of 1105... I like my BFG's better than Nittos... But I really like my M/T ET Drag Radials

see thats what i hate...lol. It seems it depends on car and driver for the best tire...so its like you just gotta try it to find out.

And another thing...when u say M/T ET Drag Radials you are talking about M/T ET Street Radial tires? Im looking in the Summit catalog and there is no M/T ET Drag radial. Just these, ranging from least to most sticky......M/T ET Street Radials, M/T ET Street Tire, and M/T ET Drag Slicks.

Lets put it this way...

The only two "drag" radial tires that are legal in NMRA's Factory Stock class are the BFG's and Nittos. MT's are banned. No one uses Nittos, and BFG does not pay contingency. You decide....

Why are M/T's banned? You talking about their slick that they put cuts in to make it DOT legal(M/T ET Street) or the M/T street radial?

I had both the 275/40/17 and the 275/50/15 BFG Dr's and loved them. You'll wear them fast though. My best 60ft on stock engine and suspension on the 17' was 1.79 My best 60ft on the 15' with my mods on motor was 1.66 on a REALLY crappy track. They dont call it Sucksville for nothing....

Yeah man. Lots of 1.75's also. 10.5-11pds of air in them. Do you beleive that I had to miss 3rd on that run ?? Stupid clutch/quadrant was so unadjusted that day..I should of fixed that before I went. (the adjustement on the firewall was maxed out. I needed to go back in the bell/dustshield and under the dash to change forks )

Looks like i will be looking at the BFG's for some v6 15" wheels for the track

Slicks are banned in the class because it's a "Factory" class. ET Streets were banned because they're just about a slick. Street radials were banned because they're an ET Street with a tread "pattern" cut into them and have a longer life on the street.

The bottom line is this...

M/T drag radial will hook the hardest of all the drag radials. The BFG's are second and nitto's last. The nitto's will last longer than both of the top two but....

The only preference people should have is whether thay car about rain performance and longevity...Who cares..

no the new et street radial which is the new mickey thompson is banned form drag radial class... it is too sticky!

many are arguing its stickier than the et street dot slick

if these will be track only wheels and or weekend warrior

DEFINITELY get the et street radials they will stick with no issues and you wont go through any headaches figuring out how to adapt to a finicky drag radial.

then why arent there more people running it? Do they not even last as long as BFG's or something? Or are people scared of snapping an axle?

even though its been listed forever getting them is a different matter.

they will last about as long as an et street

and i guess if you are scared of snapping an axle then... whatever

I have run et streets drags and nittos for years and daily driven on slicks and it hasnt done anything. i notice the newer cars snap axles left and right but have never found that the case with our shorter axle 5.0s. I have many friends that went 10s for years on stock axles with super low 60s
