Drag Radials, Daily Tires?

I'm planning on getting myself a set of new wheels, so of course tires will be included. I was curious if anyone could tell me what they think about getting Drag Radials as a " daily " tire... I would only be driving on them when totally necessary, for racing etc. The car isn't my daily driver so it wont be driven every day, but hopefully every sunny, clear day when summer rolls around. Please give me your 2 cents on the subject. I plan on getting the BFG DR's.

I had nitto dr's on for daily driving. No problems even in rain.

ET Streets (radial, not the slick type) do just fine in the wet if you keep your foot out of it.

No probelms whatsoever other than buying a new set every season. You will survive if you get caught in the rain and know how to use your head. But don't get caught in the rain once they get pretty worn. I got stuck in a pretty heavy rain once after mine were almost bald and the car wanted nothing more than to just turn around even when coasting.

I used 2 sets of Nitto DR's for everyday driving. They handled better then my Sumotomo's. Even in the rain!!

If you want mileage and drivability in the rain get the Nittos. I run them all year round. i get about 10K out of them. However if you go to the track, THEY SUCK A$$, get something else to use at the track. I use all out slicks. Now on the other hand BFG's are awsome for dd as well as the track but you won't get 3000 miles out of them.

I daily drive on cooper ATR's they wear great, great in all weather.

nitto's = suck ****
bfg's = ok do a BIG burnout
mickeys = I have them and I love them stick like crazy glue
race master = buddy has these they hook pretty well, last a long time, not quite the grip of the mt's but dang good!!

havent tried any of the others..

ran bfg drag radials a while back as daily driver tires...they were good, the only problem i had with them is they threw rocks when they get warm in the heat of the summer...

I've drove my BFG's in the rain several times. If you ask me, any 5.0 even stock is going to spin any tires you put on it in the rain, and the DR's weren't any worse than any other tire i've ran in the rain. Of course once they start wearing down and getting smooth it's gonna get worse, but they're still worlds better than ET's in the rain which basically just hydroplane constantly.

When they're brand new perhaps. Get a little wear on them though and they're as suicidal as running an all out bias ply in the rain. And don't get me started if theres a little sand or gravel on the road.

Drag radials are meant for clean, dry pavement. Nitto's work so well, because on top of everything else, they're a sub par drag radial with a decent amount of treading. They're practically a radial compound. The ET Street Radials are damn near bald from the get go, soft as foam rubber, hook like gangbusters on good pavement and scary as hell on wet roads.

Daily...Nitto's. They are great in the rain with tread. Bald Nittos are dangerous though.

My friend got brand new M/T drags, and ran at the track....then on the way home it rained, and he thought he was gonna die. He got turned around on the on ramp lugging it in 4th gera. He said they sucked.
