drag radials, how long will they last?

Hey all, just purchased a set of Nitto 555R's 315 drag radials and was wonderin' on average how many miles do you think I will get out of them?
Was talkin to someone who has them and he said at 5K it looked like he needed to think about a new set. I will not take them to the track, they are for street use only, and I don't abuse them, but 5K? I was hopeing if I'm easy on them to get possibly 15K, realistic?

Well i have to run drag radials or its like skating on ice all the time ..My nittos last on average 12k miles..And im not easy on them,but they dont see any track time..They are good tires until they get close to the wear bars.Then they act a little funny in the rain..

I had mine on for at least 15k, well over a year and they saw track time often. But then again I dont have 500+ HP

I abuse mine with avengence, sittin on about 250 rwhp and they are still going. Had them about 13k so far and over a year and they are still gonna last me another few thou..I will be buying 555's next time and skip the whole DR thing until I really need the sticky.

i hear 15k often, 5k not so much.
