I have a 1996 GT with stock rims. I want to know how big I can go with drag radials. I read about some with 315/40/17, but I don't know if that fits on the rims I got. I know they balloon out a bit, but the widest normal tires I've had are 255/40/17. Right not I have bald a** 245/45/17's.

They work i have them on mine. They are a bit snug, but i havn't had any problems with rubbing. Only thing i can tell you is that if it is your daily drive watch when it rains and when it is really cold out, I tend to slide around.

Get Nitto 275-40-17 DR's...they run a slightly narrower sidewall than BFG's or MT's and will buldge less on a stock 17x8.

M/T DR's in the same size will fit with a slightly larger buldge, but will wear out quicker than the nitto's

315's will work on a stock rim,buuuut....i would not recommend it.:nono:
You will have major side to side motion,do to too much bulging side wall, and the softness of the drag radial, which is really unsafe, and mostlikely will look out of place.275's look and fit nice on a stock rim :nice: .
Some have done it i'm sure,but i wouldn't.:nonono:
