kentwood,La
my pi headswap will be done when i get back home on june 15th.
i wanna order some drag radials for my 2 spare 17x8gt wheels.
i was looking at the M/T drag radials size 275-40-17.i was just curious as to what rpm i could launch at safely w/out breaking anything and not spinning the tires as well.
i know right now on street tires i am pulling a 2.1 60ft.do you guys thing 1.8-1.9 60ft times are within reach with drag radials??
thanks guys!
charles

1.8's should be easy to get with dr's

as far as to what rpm to launch, every car is different so you'll have to experiment and find out on your own

start with whatever rpm you normally launch at and just dump the clutch. then work your way up from there

Having snapped both axles with a clutch dump on D/Rs and zero mods, I'd say you're taking the same chance I took. Had to do over again, I'd probably have slipped the clutch until I upgraded the rear end.

yeah.. you don't wanna get too much traction. Make sure you get them nice and sticky by doing a burnout before, it makes all the difference. I wouldn't launch it past 4K just in case

If you are going to use DR's especially MT's you will need to get axles period. or you will always run the risk of them breaking. If you plan on sticking with the stock axles go with a nitto DR, they are more forgiving and tend to not hook as hard as the mt's or bfg dr's.

Thanks guys for all of the replys.
i just wanna get a good launch around 2500rpm without spinning or breaking anything.i'm gonna look into some new axles.any particular kind to look into w/out breaking my wallet?
thanks guys!

if you launch at 2500 you are going to bog when it hooks

hey man!!
i appreciate the info.i guess the best thing to do is practice with them,i just wanted to get a starting point.
i guess i'm gonna look into upgrading axles that way i can launch pretty hard.

spinning isn't always a bad thing, as long as it's limited. launch higher than 2500, but slip the clutch a lil bit
