Cool video!

Thanks man, the new season starts pretty quick here so hopefully i can get some better stuff and some cool cars. :nice: When the first part of the video comes on when we are all staged you can see a Black right side drive Silvia two or three cars behind me and a turbocharged red Chevy Sprint in the lane beside me one car back. That little sprint hauls and that right side drive was pretty cool. The Silvia was pretty disappointing though. It was running 15.5 all night. I thought they were faster than that. The little sprint was running 14.9's.

Just a hint....if you're gonna be running radials, DO NOT go into the water. Just go around it. And try pumping them up to 40Psi or so. Believe it or not, it helps.

I'll agree with skipping the water and the big Smokey burn out, since street radials turn into grease when they get hot, but 40psi is kind of excessive for tire pressure. Although I do agree that lowering tire pressure on a radial tire is a waste of time also, since the tread surface is no where near as soft as a D/R or Slick and the sidewall will in no way buckle as it would in either of those tires either. Not to mention that lowering tire pressure excessively on a street radial causes the tread surface to buckle in the center, which reduces your contact patch on the pavement. From my experience, the stock 30-35psi is still best....depending on weather and track condition. Unless of course you're talking about the front tires....in which case I usually jack them up to 40-45psi or so. :D

Sorry folks, had trouble with my web browser so I couldn't post for a few days. i was going into Stangnet withdrawl. Anyways, if you look at the video there is no way to go around the water box. They force you to drive into it. Believe me if I could have I would have because I sure paid the price in traction. It really sucked donkey shlong. We'll see what happens in a few weeks now that I have the 315 drags, bye bye axels!

My experience has been to lower the tire pressure (only in the rears of course). Saying that my stang doesn't run repeatable times enough to confirm that it makes a difference, I've found that running 25 psi in a 55(?) series tire helps my 60ft a bit without really impacting my top end.

Another note, I have a bunch of videos that I've been trying to find and cut down into usable segments, let u know when I get them posted.

The best way to find traction is to spin the tires on a clean or new patch of pavement and measure the black marks on the road. If the marks are light on the edges decrease pressure, if they are dark on the edges increase pressure. It will take awhile but thats the best way I've heard.
