I'll agree with skipping the water and the big Smokey burn out, since street radials turn into grease when they get hot, but 40psi is kind of excessive for tire pressure. Although I do agree that lowering tire pressure on a radial tire is a waste of time also, since the tread surface is no where near as soft as a D/R or Slick and the sidewall will in no way buckle as it would in either of those tires either. Not to mention that lowering tire pressure excessively on a street radial causes the tread surface to buckle in the center, which reduces your contact patch on the pavement. From my experience, the stock 30-35psi is still best....depending on weather and track condition. Unless of course you're talking about the front tires....in which case I usually jack them up to 40-45psi or so.NoNOS said:Just a hint....if you're gonna be running radials, DO NOT go into the water.
