I was talking to my boss last night from day shift and he might cut and make me the gear's for my tranny like what come in the G-Force kit! All i need is the steel and $500 for him to start! I can get all the steel for cost or even less, so i would like to know exactly what type it is? We can cut them at work and his dad own's his own machine shop as well! peace

nice, they use a high nickle alloy, might wanna call and ask them the specifics. i think you could prob just copy the stock gears and how they are cut and if your boss can make those i have cash waiting!! see if he can duplicate the mainshaft also.

I dont see why not ? It wouldnt be that hard for a good machinist to do, and if it can be done by CNC then hell i can do it myself, all i'd need would be the program? I've made one gear at my wikes grandfather's shop it was made from brass and had like 50 teeth on it, i was just f'ing around tho as he was showing me how to do it. But that's out now cause he had 2 strokes about 2-3 year's ago and has never recovered enough to work CNC= mass produce peace

Just as an example...They make an hardened alloy gear set for SHO's...cost is $6000
Most of that is development...cutting the second set is hella cheap. Finding 100 buddies to split the initial cost is hard.

But good luck...personally I would just save up for a Tremec and save the headache

True but if i can get these done for his cost for time and if it can be CNC then i can go mass produce and make some off it. I'm shure there is people that will buy them for half the cost from me? But we'll see this could all get shot down if my boss's dad dont have the capibility to do so, i'll know come monday night? peace

Just plan ahead...the gears and shafts arent complete until they are shot peened and cryo coated to make them last. Extra $$ spent there. And just carving out a set of exact duplicates of the stock gears wont get you any more support than stock, and thats most of the problem to begin with. Then you have to take into consideration how much noise these things are gonna make. You have got to be pretty good to machine with the tolerences that Ford has theirs machined at. I am not a metallurgist, but you should involve one to find the proper metal the first time. Just picking out a piece of steel isnt gonna cut it.

I dunno...after a while its like so im just throwing in my "told ya so" before you drop a nice piece of deposit on this prototyping. Good luck and keep us posted on how/if/when/$$/etc.

That's a big fat NO i ment to post earlier on this and i asked him and i guess his dad has passed away? I never knew this i alway's heard him talkin bout how his dad has a shop but never knew this? So back to square one. i called gforce and i can get a tranny shipped to my door for $1600.00 will take about 2 weeks cause they are on back order. And it will cost about $100.00 to send mine to them for a core. There is small little thing's to keep in mind when switching over to them tho! sorry for the late news and post! peace

I've always been tempted by the G-Force T-5, but for $1600 I'd probably just get a TKO500 or TKO600 from Dark Horse and call it good.

how much are they from them? ive found the cheapest tremac for $1935 shipped to my door with bell housing, fork. shifter all you need is a clutch! peace
