Driver's seat tweeked

Does anyone know of a way to un-tweek the drivers seat, I suppose a big dude, or maybe a big woman really pushed back hard on the drivers seat. Its tweeked as if you are facing to the middle of the hood, just enough to look bad and feels somewhat akward.

If it matters, its the 90 Gt sport seat.

You might try taking the bolts out of the low side of the seat and stick a couple of washers under there. Does the seat make you lean backward or toward the center console?

common problem. there are a few sites with fixes for it (welding the frame). i think Jamie (Ranchero) has posted info on it in here, and might have something on his site.

It seems like every stang ive seen has a drivers seat that is bent. Most of them 5-spd. cars. Pushing in the clutch for 14 years or so puts its toll on the seat. Ya know just add it to the list of ; ashtray door, door handles, door lock, some things we know WILL go bad.

i had that problem in a bronco (different car i know, but same problem) and i found that the seat itself was actaully broken. the recline catch wouldnt hold up at all

Yeah, interior stuff sucks. That's why I just replace it. I have the same issue with my seats, but I pulled them out to be refinished in black leather. The amish do great work!

Common with mustangs, take the upholstry off and you'll see where the frame is cracked in the bottom corner of the seat frame. Weld it up and your good to go, it'll be straight as new.

if you have a welder or know how to use a rivet gun this is an easy fix. Its as simple as taking the seat out of the car and peeling back the upholstery on the seat back. You only have to move about 8 inches. With the fabric removed you'll see that the seat is essentially two stamped steel panels tack welded together. All you have to do is straighten the seat the way you want it to be and put a few more tack welds on them. Be careful, I riveted it the first time and I over corrected, the seat was pointing me in the opposite direction. I now sit straight and am glad I postponed the need to buy new seats.

I believe my problem is the latch. Becuase it has some "play" to it. Like if you make it sit straight up, it falls back about an half a inch. And you can move the set forward and backward before the latch stops it. I guess I must be to big of a guy for it.

All mustang seats have that play you are referring to, it's just north american automobile, thats all. When i welded my seat, all i had to do was clamp the metal together where the welds were broken, and it immediatly straightened out. I then welded it and bam it was as good as new.
