Need one for what? Are you making enough power to break a U-Joint? I'd spend my money elseware if I were you.

Yes, i'd get one just for insurance sakes. Last thing you want is your driveshaft going through your floor

this one should work for ya

When was the last time you heard of a Mustang breaking a drive shaft and putting it through the floor?

If whatever sanctioned race level of competition requires it, then fine, but for your average bolt on driver, it's a waste of money. Might as well put a parachute on that back and install a cage while you're at it.

If you really must have one, then buy the cheapest one of the bunch and feel good about it.

They're only about $45.00, and I believe that they are a required safety item if you're running 12.99 or quicker. I bought one, but I haven't installed it yet.

I just got one from upr. I ordered some rear suspension stuff so I figured I might as well order it now all in one shot. Seems worth it to me for $37.

Much like steel bellhousings, its not something you "need" but you just never know especially if you race the car and launch hard.

Agian I HOPING. I have seen videos of f bodys and mullets boxs blowing them out. Since I was doing all of this I was going to do it .Just didn't know which one to do.

I seen a nice show truck do a burn out after the show and break the drive shaft. MESSY it took out his stainless dual exhaust, mangled the gas tank and ripped a bunch of lines out and I'm sure there was alot more damage that was just from what I could see.

the cross over on my h-pipe is a few inches behind the u-joints so if my u-joint ever broke, it would land on the h-pipe. i assumed all foxes were the same

NHRA rules say it has to be mounted within 6 inches of the front u-joint. On a Mustang it is most commonly mounted 4 inches behind the front joint. Also it is required if your running 13.99 or faster on slicks, or 13.00or faster on DOT tires
