351W getting the hot tank, magnaflux and .030 overbore treatment.

Part of the deal is they will install the freeze plugs and cam bearings. I've got to bring them a piston monday for them to check the clearances for the bore and then next week I should have it back.

Anybody can do their own freeze plugs, but cam bearings require a tool that costs more than the machine shop will charge. The only reson to do your own is if you are building a LOT of engines....

Maybe it's because I live out here in the boonies of the world; but you aren't gonna see magnafluxing and boring/honing that cheap around here! Cam bearings and freeze plugs are a bonus :nice:

Not to mention that the engine is going to come back to me ready for some baby blue paint :)

The other quotes I was getting was thing much just for the bore job. A guy I know at the local parts store recommended this shop.

Actually, freeze plugs on this engine are going to take some work, The old ones were shall we say, unserviceable, and getting em out wasn't going to be easy.
