i was redoing the pi intake and i accidently dropped a small piece of the rtv stuff down an intake port. i got a vacume and spent about 5 minutes getting it out. it isnt down there, and the valve didnt seem to be open. but if something tiny did get down there, mainly this rubberish rtv, could that damage my engine? :(:(:(:(

This reminds me of the time when my friends dad was building a 383 stroker for his Chevelle and thought lost a washer down in the head. He wasn't 100% sure that's were it went so he said F it and put the motor together anyway. Lets just say he got to build the motor a second time, two hours later. :owned:

if you can't find it, pull the head. you could damage a valve if any of the sealent gets in the wrong spot. if some of it hardend on the cylinder wall, it might hurt a piston ring.

good luck

i think i'll be fine. i checked it with a flash light and nothing is in the port or by the valve. and it was an already cured piece (i was removing the old rtv from the first try), so it wont dry to anything.

If you're really that worried about it, just turn the engine over by hand, (you'll need a power bar with an 18mm socket on the end of the crank) until you have the intake valve closed and the exhaust valve open. Then just blow it out the exhaust port with some compressed air through the spark plug hole. :)
