Dumb question about non hardening sealer and when to use it

The only thing I used on ARP bolts was ARP moly lube on the threads...I guess you could use the ARP teflon thread sealer if you want to on lower intake bolts. I've also used anti-seize when using stainless bolts. I'm sure there are differing opinions...those are mine, and I've never had a problem with stuck or leaking bolts.

YW...pretty much everything you need can be had at a local parts store.

Use ARP moly on the rod caps, rods bolts, main bolts and caps, top head bolts head portion, washer and threads (use it on the washer and head portion of the lower head bolts NOT ON THE THREADS) You can use the molt on top of the valves also when assembling, I prefer assembly lube ( I use Clevite Bearing Guard or Royal Purple) on the tips of the pushrods, camshaft, lifters and lifter bores,and dist gear.

Use Permatex Black gasket maker on the lower head bolt threads, Ive had issues with ARP in the past and now use the Permatex at THEIR recommendation. Use anti seize on any bolt going into alum to help prevent galding, intake bolts, headers bolts, etc...

If your using ARP bolts make sure they are CLEAN, and always have the radiused edge of the washer towards the head of the bolt.

When you're talking about not using the moly on the threads you're talking about lower head bolts only correct? At which point in time you'd use black permatex or similar? I've used the teflon stuff with great effectivity in the past-never tried black permatex though. Saw the part in bold about not on the threads and it kinda threw me there for a sec, till I re-read it.
