Ive heard about some covers you can buy that prevent brake dust and cover up the brake calipers and brake rotors. Not sure what they are actually called though. Is this a ricer item or does anyone actually use these? Ive got Cobra R wheels on my 02 GT and they only thing i dont like is that you see the calipers and rotors. Unfortunately the wheels look great but just dont quite take up enough space to hide these. If anyone has a link to finding these please let me know. And No i dont wanna paint the calipers. Thanks for your replys.

I haven't seen what you are talking about. Do you have pictures?

The only dust cover I know of is the one that comes stock on the car. But it's the shield behind the rotor.

Just paint the calipers... it's not that hard to do.

Most people like seeing the rotors and calipers

The only think you could do is get different wheels that do not have such large open space in them.

Another thing you could do is get plastic "spinner" hup caps. Then you would not see the calipers and rotors...

This is an aftermarket part im talking about. I think you take off the wheels and the plate goes between the wheel and the calipers. They are offered in different colors and im guessing they may be made of aluminum. It completely covers the entire space between the wheel and brake assembly.

why would you want to hide the brakes?? covering them up will prevent the cooling that open wheels provide. if you are concerned with brake dust, just wash your wheels once a week.

one of the reasons i got the wheels i got is because they are very open and show off my brakes. but my brakes also literally fill up the wheelwells.

I guess its just a personal preference thing i have. At the time i bought the wheels they were about the only aftermarket wheel that was available for my car. Not many choices of wheels for the GT's besides the Cobra R look. I knew that there was gonna be alot of open space to see behind the wheels but as opposed Pony wheels that came on the car i decided to get them anyway. I like the look of them i just think it would accent the wheels much better if there was a completely black background. Theres no right or wrong answer its all just a personal opinion thing. As for brake heat i dont drive the car in a roadrace style to make that much brake heat.
