ok so im trying to do the cupholder mod here. i know someone who got into an accident, has an 01 or an 02, i forget. but his interior is gray? i have black/tan... how hard would it to take the gray to match the saddle tan? been trying to locate a parchment one out of an 01+ but so far all ive found is a 99 from another guy around here.

any input? really trying to stay black/tan as i dont have the minds to afford seats to match if i went all black.

:nice:

Parchment does not match saddle, so you'll have to paint anyway. LRS has interior paint, and someone here said their saddle is an excellent match.

Mustang Interior Paint & Interior Spray Dye at LRS - Same Day Shipping!

I would use their lacquer paint on the center console, since it's a solid plastic. The vinyl dye is used for the softer material of the dashboard & airbags. I'd also recommend a primer to help the paint to stick. You can probably pick up plastic primer at your local hardware store.

I'm thinking of picking up an 01-04 console. I have the 98 console, but I keep hitting my drink whenever I shift gears.

My boss just painted the center armrest (it is a vinyl piece) and some pieces around the steering wheel (those were hard plastic) in an Aurora (he has a thing for those cars). He took the pieces he wanted to match to, of all places, Sherwin-Williams. They computer matched and mixed him paint for like 20 bucks.

I was unable to tell which panels he painted and which ones he didn't. I mean there was absolutely no difference in the colors of the two pieces.

yeah i saw LRS' product. I would probably have to use an adhesion promoter, which is what my buddy mentioend(hes a bodyman/painter by trade) .... just dont know if i should grab this gray center console to try and paint it our saddle. does anyone see this being a problem? i dont want to do too many coats and make the console darker than the rest of the interior
