Dyno Day No Go..

Just had to say it...1:00pm tommorow at Kauffman Motorsports. Hope all goes well and I will be satisfied with 300hp to the wheel(h/c/i and all bolt-ons). Quick question though, will it make any difference if I leave in my subs and spare tire or is worth taking out? What about how much gas to put in the tank? Thanks!

Well there is no "woot." I get there and do a base pull all on stock tune and timing and made 267hp and 286tq. Then when he tried to put a chip on my comp and tune it wouldn't work. The j3 port on my computer has some type of internal error or problem. We tried a different chip and still no go. We determined it was the computer because we tried another customer's 95gt computer and it worked fine. So...no dyno tune, they are ordering me a remanufactured computer for $130 and then dyno tune it on tuesday. I'll let you all know how it goes when I get back from school in two weeks. It also looks like I'm not gonna get 300hp out of it, they guy tuning says the cobra intake is really holding it back. Let me know how much hp and tq you think I will gain from the tune. Just had to rant, thanks.

I take it you guys sanded the protective coating from the port's pc board right? I don't think there is such a thing as a bad j3 port. If you didn't do that, it won't make any connection to whatever you plug into it.

No...we did that also, we cleaned it very well multiple times, actually taking up almost 30min making sure that we did it perfectly. It sounded wierd to me also but he called up their SCT tech person and questioned him about it also and he agreed that something must be wrong with the j3 port. We tried multiple chips on my computer, none worked. We tried the same chips on another customer's computer and they worked perfectly. All I know is that it sucks having to get a new one and I won't have a chance to get my car for another 2 weeks! I am also disappointed with the numbers it put down, I don't think a good tune will even get me to 300hp.

No sheet for it...he never printed it or anything because didn't even get into tuning the car yet. I will try to get it up next week when the car gets tuned. I'll try to walk my dad through scanning it onto the computer, lol, because I'm away at school still.
