After waiting for who knows how long, I finally got down to Team Ford Marietta and got my dyno tune. Not only did they fix my idle, but they helped me locate some other trouble spots I had. Back to the numbers. Jeff at Team Ford told me to chunk my intake and replace it for a good 25 rwhp, which would put my numbers up to where I expected them to be.

265 rwhp
299 rwtq

1.6 roller rockers, 70mm t/b, 76mm mas, bbk longtubes with catted h-pipe, 30lb injectors

stock 5-speed, eaton posi, 31 spline moser axles, 3.73s

the recommended intake was an edlebrock performer (by the tuners) I may see if tmoss still wants to port my cobra first though, im curious to see what it would do.

edit - they also recommended a larger NA cam since my blower isnt on yet

I agree that there is more power in an intake swap I don't think that your intake is at the limit of the power that it can make. Cobra intakes can make 280 RWHP without really sweating. 300 RWHP is possible but at that range it's getting a bit harder. 320+ is possible but the intake would be a big restriction at that point.

tmoss - lower intake is a stock cobra lower and does not match my 1250 gasket

belzebub - GA

tmc - i agree that a cobra intake could make lots of power, i just need to get the lower port matched to my heads?

I think that would be a good economical start but don't simply port match the lower. Have the entire lower ported and port matched.

Here's my numbers.

262 rwhp
293 ftlbs rw.

Mods

f-303 cam, header shorties, o/r x-pipe, borla catback, 3:73 gears, aluminum drive shaft, under drive pullies, and k&n filter.

Stock cobra bottom end, heads(steel gt40s), intake, and throttle body.

With those heads you should be in the 300hp at the rear wheel range.

Just to clarify a couple things. The cobra intake is untouched upper/lower. The AFRs are the 61cc stud heads (not the 58cc - planning on blower next year). Do my numbers still seem low, or do they seem about right? My bottom end has roughly 80k miles on it and could possibly play a factor?

Said it before.............never mind.

There could be lots of reasons why the numbers did not climb as high as you expected.

You did not give details about the tune such as af ratio, spark and the like.

Most na h/c/i combos can gain at least 10 rwhp by someone who knows how to manipulate the spark/fuel tables.

I've seen combos that had after market maf's be pig rich or dangerously lean.

Did the motor have time to cool between the pulls?

More than once I've seen intake ports covered 1/8 of an inch by the gaskets.

How many miles on the short block?
