I have a dyno appointment set up for next week with a local tuner here in my area. I have visited his shop a number of times and talked with quite a number of his customers. He comes highly recomenmended from people who's opinon I respect.
This said he recomends that I use a C&L street kit over the "racer "intake for an N/A application. His reasonings were that on the dyno (dynojet 224x),he could get close to the same peak hp numbers with the smaller street intake, but that the area "under the curve" would better than with the bigger "racer".

It makes sense to me,and I read elsewhere in another post that someone used the smaller 88mm? maf with the the racer intake and made more power.

Does anyone have any experience with this or an educated opinon?

Also installing 4:10 gears this week before I go,will the xcal 3 that I'm getting with the kit allow me to recalibrate the speedo?

Who's the tuner? I'm the one who has a 88mm maf tube with the C&L Racer cai. It made more power than the "standard" 95mm the Racer kit comes with. I've got mild bolt ons, no cams or heads. Just CMCVs, UDPs, o/r x pipe, Magnapacks, intake, and tune. I don't think I'd go with the Street kit though. The maf tube is only 82mm or 83mm, it's kind of small. If anything, get the 88mm maf tube like I did. VMP Tuning sells them on their website. The Xcal3 will adjust for tire size and gearing. The Xcal3 is the best tuner out there for late model Fords, IMO.
