if i get a dyno tune before gears will i have to re flash the chip when gears go in?

No if you're a 5spd, maybe if you're an automatic (change shift points or something to avoid bouncing off the rev limiter...).

Unless he had an aode like Cman stated then he may need a reburn. If its a stick car, then the answer is no.

I'm planning on 4.10 or 4.30's as my next down the road mod and there won't be any PMS reprogramming needed.
