the heads have a valve job and they were shaved. that could increase potential right?

Because you're an auto, you'll lose some RWHP there from drivetrain loss, but I would expect to see close to 275 RWHP and 290 RWTQ based on other people similar combos.

I always used 17percent loss for a stick, 22 percent loss for an auto. Where I heard that I don't remember, but there you have it.

so at 275 for an auto, that would be 288 for a manual
i cant wait to get it back. its been such a pita driving it since the h/c swap. low rpm bucking, hot start surging, hanging idle because of a leaky egr tube and the cam not getting along with the comp.

well im no expert, but to my understanding, when you add certain things to your car the PCM needs to be altered from its original setting. a dyno tune is a way of reprograming the computer using a chip. the chip is about $300, and then dyno time to program the chip is about $200. the reason for needing this is when you make changes the pcm flips out. i was having lots of drivability issues.

The computer can only compensate for so many changes. Once you get very far from stock, it's adaptive limit is maxed, and it needs a chip to "retune" it for new values (injector sizes, maf slopes, idle speeds etc.).
Greg!! You definitely gotta let us know how much better it drives after the tune!! I have zero time anymore with the twEECer, so I'm tempted to sell it and use the money for a dyno tune.
well, got the car back. they ended up fixing my drivability issues without having to tune it. all along it was the 10 gauge ground wire from the batt terminal that was giving me my problems. i still have a hanging idle and they told me thats normal because of my computer and even a tune cant cure that. when we were talking about the sn95 computer, they were telling me that the fox computers dont have that problem and if i were to switch to a fox comp that can cure the hanging idle. i was going to have them do the pulls but the guy never showed up to fix there dyno yet. all the electronics got wet during the hurricane. i will go back next week for some pulls to find out what im making. anyone else think i should switch to the fox comp?

I asked the same auestion a while ago and the consensus was to not switch it out. There are plenty of guys with extreme combos using the stock puter. TWEECER is very highly recommended and you would end up spending about the same for the program and an old lap top. You could do the tuning yourself anytime.
