Hey guys, i was browsen again and came accross some e-cam questions but i didn't want to jack the guys thread so i figured i would post new. I aso have the e-cam and i herd a few people saying that davanceing the cam by 4 degrees (i'm guessing at the timing chain) that it will give better overall proformance etc... I'm not sure if it wuld really help me with a boosted motor at around 13.5 psi (4 now at least). It's basicly one of thoes is it really worth taking stuff apart to do it or just let it alone at 0* advanced.... Let Me know what U guys think!

The later the intake valve close... the MORE boost is allowed to enter the chambers.. I usually advance the cam when I am running N/A or N/A and then spraying.. but boosed all the time.. the E is on a 110 ICL !! advancing the cam 106*.(. 4* advanced) will allow the intake valve to close earlier and build cyl. pressure sooner... Thus more torque!! Retarding the cam 114* (4* retarded) will keep the intake valve open longer and allow for more boost!! On the E cam I suggest setting it in dot to dot ( 110 ICL) and use that!! IF you want MORE power thru the boost then retard the cam more... I suggest run the engine first.. and THEN make the changes to the cam phasing... cool??

Just me.......................

As a rule I have never advance the cam in an injected 5.0 . I was always told that was a no-no. The 5.0 is a pretty low reving motor as it is. With a blower why would you need to improve bottom end? A 106 centerline is a little short for a car with a 5 spd. Do you have a 5spd? I guess if you have an automatic it might not be the worst thing you could do.....
