e brake problem????

Hows it goin guys, ive recently done my rear brakes myself, and i dont know what the f$%^ I did but for some reason my e brake will not engage fully anymore???? I can pull it almost all the way up, and if im on a hill the car will just roll, i can hear the e brake trying to grab, it kinda sounds like it just creaks to a stop..... How do I adjust my Cable??? I have a 97 gt by the way, thanks guys...

there was a TSB on it around 2001-2002. I had mine done. Not sure if it is still valid though.

A 97 GT does have a free recall on the ebrake.

did you replace the e brake cable? what all did you replace on the brakes?

im having the same problem. I replaced the whole rear in my car and did the brakes at the same time and now the car keeps rolling and making a nasty creaking noise when the handbrake is engaged.

All I did was change the pads? wtf could be wrong? i took the car to some brake shop and they gave me some bul**** bout the rotors being below spec and the e brake boots being wornout or something, which is complete bull cause, the car was perfectly fine till i messed with the rear brakes? Guess ill just check out some other shops to see what they say...

it got better today but it still isn't fully engaging. No more nasty creaking noise though when the car is rolling with it engaged. The ebrake is supposed to automatically adjust in the newer stangs I thought but I could be wrong
