e brake

i just bought a 86 mustang 5 speed the only prblem i have is the e brake doesnt work it feels like its not connected i can lift it with my pinky if it could be something else please help thanks!

could be disconnected, get under the car and look up, over the driveshaft should see some cables possibly missing/broke.disconnected. my first 5.0 it was just missing...??? and i could not understand why. 15.00 at the junkyard and i was good to go............

I'm thinking snapped cable also.

Now the 86 and earlier have a different setup than the later cars, so yours is adjustable on the ebrake handle. If the cables are there and attached, it may just need to be adjusted.

so its definetly disconected but dont have a clue how it goes back any help?
