I have been there man, trying to figure out a way to get the most bang for your buck. Spend money on the exploder stuff if you want to make power on the cheap. I think the biggest mistake we all make is buying parts before we realize what we really want with our cars. If you have that figured out already and the e streets are what you want (not just what will work) then go for it I guess.
