Ok i'm reinstalling the stock 7's on a buddies car (my old one). And some of the acc brackets bolts are missing so i put the ones in that are there and get it all buttoned up start it and damn theres what apears to be an exhust leak comming from the front of the heads? I noticed that on the rear of the heads are where the smog tubes go and i caped them off cause i deleted all the smog crap. So do they run clear threw the head to the front also?????? I know when i put the other 7's from 78 on there i didnt have this prob, but by looking at them it appears thats what is going on? All i did on them was cap off the holes on the rear of them. I'm so god damn fed up with this cause what only should of taken a day if that has now taken me since tuesday <~~~~ mad as hell! peace

the passage runs straight through the head. the accessory bolts have threaded inserts in there to accept i believe, a 1/2" bolt on the front. try putting some type of sealer around that threaded insert if it isint locked into the head.

if the insert is still stuck in the head, try some sealer around the outside edges.

281pomy is right the smog holes can be capped by using inserts. they are 1/2" x 1 thread use red locktite on them or just buy them from a ford dealer in your area the part number us F4ZZ.6E086.A i believe. i think they run about $15.00 and have 3/8 threads on the inside to mount accessories
