Early C-4 problem.

What I have is a C-4 that has been modified w/ a Transpak and clutches.
When I manually shift from low to second it skips right to third. I don't even have time to loop it. (this only happens at full throttle) Is there an adjustment that I can make to keep this from happening? Or will I need to go to the later model valve body?

Dont completely hold me to this, But from what i have heard, the older C4 Valve Bodies are not interchangable with newer stuff. As far as skipping second, id say either something stuck in the VB, or the Band for Second is not coming on. If you have a good trans shop locally, it doesnt hurt to go ask them. Heck, tell them you will buy parts or service if they can give you a direction to look in. When i was rebuildin my trans, the guys at Monroe's Transmission in Yuba City, CA were a HUGE help. Shameless Plug....

It shifts into second when I am in drive, full throttle or normal driving. It only does this when I manually shift it.

LOL My dad had this done back in the 80's and he said it was a Transpak. I might just give a fluid and filter change and see if tha fixes it. I don't know when the last time that was done.
