Eccentric bolts to adjust camber??

I am planning on putting FMS "B" springs on my 1990 LX soon, and I am wondering if anyone has used eccentric bolts to adjust the camber within specs. They are $19 from Summit, instead of $200 for camber plates.

My last mustang had them, the alignment shop I took it too installed them to get the camber within spec after I lowered it, and they seemed to work great.

I'm just wondering why I don't hear more about them, since it seems like a much cheaper way to adjust the camber on a lowered car than camber plates.

Thanks a lot.

ive never had experience with them on a mustang but i have used them on just about everything else. i guess its a good idea if it works, which it sounds like it does since you used them already on another car. i just put struts on the front of my car and there isnt much adjustment in the camber anyways. the bolt pretty much just goes through the hole. there was maybe 2* of adjustment on my car

edit: you could always drill out the rivets that hold the oem camber plates in and put some small bolts in there to hold it and have them use that to adjust it.

One of the advantages of CC plates is that you get a wide range of camber adjustment and you can adjust the caster. Increasing the caster increases the car's tendency to drive in a straight line and reduces road wander.

Thanks for the info.

I'm going to talk to the guy who alligned my last stang and see if he can do the one i've got now, even though he works at a different shop now. He really knows his stuff, and set my last car up to some custom specs he had. The thing drove great, if he says he can do the same thing with my current car and the eccentric bolts, I think I'll have him do that. I could use the extra $160 I'll save for some other mods.
