Edelbrock Package

Hey guys,

How much better do you think the Edelbrock Performer RPM Heads, Performer RPM Intake, and Performer RPM Cam package is over just their Performer Heads, Performer Intake, and Performer-Plus Cam?

I'm asking b/c I noticed that prices are relatively the same, I already have a Performer Intake, and was wondering if it's worth it to spend money on a new RPM Intake and go w/ the whole RPM package instead of just the regular Performer package.

One of these combos will soon hopefully be on a soon to be rebuilt stock 289 A code.

Also, I already have an Edelbrock 600cfm carb and plan to get Tri-Y headers.

Anyone running either of the Edelbrock combos?

One more thing, this will be my daily driver car.

I suggest the RPM package. I think there are hp numbers on the edelbrock website. Plus, you already have the RPM intake, might as well finish it off

on Ford engines, it is a big difference. On SBCs I believe (ratio411 posted evidence about this), the Performer intake is much better, so its more competitive. But on SBFs, the RPM is a few steps above the base Performer. You'll have a redline about 1000 rpm higher, make a lot more peak power, and your power curve will be better.

I have the regular Performer Intake not the RPM right now... but aside from that what do you guys think of the Edelbrock cams?

I noticed on this board most people recommend something from compcams.

I just bought a Coast 393 kit with the RPM package. I'll post my thoughts when I get it together.

They have dyno charts for both on their website.

how much was the 393 kit w/ the rpm package. also what is the compression ratio going to be..
