edelbrock performer heads for 8 second bumper draggin hatch

I JUST GOT A FREE 2004 COBRA

 just kidding guys, i know i know im a jerk but i gotta get u to look at this thread and i thought i would suck you in with a little white lie. lol

okay im looking at a set of edelbrock aluminum performer heads they have 190 intake and 160 exhaust, the guy will let me have them for 725 shipped to my door is this a good deal or not. i thought it was but now im not sure cuz they are 190 intake and 160 exhaust arent these the older cheaper ones. let me know if this is still a good deal or not. he said that they are matched to a felpro gasket. i cant remember which one. i can look later. but my combo is in my sig. will these be good for me and is it a fair price. thaks guys

Sounds like an ok deal, i wouldn't do it, but that's me.
The older sets had some minor problems.

I'd rather find a set of the rpm's or twisted wedges.

damn

really does that mean they are the older set , if they have the 190 valves. so they are no good then. i really need a set of heads to get the ball rolling on the engine build, i was originally gonna get thumpers, then gt40ps , but now i figure why not just do it right the first time and get aluminum , performance heads, you know, instead of cutting corners and s h i t. well will they still give me a decent horsepower gain. i mean they got to do something right.

Im selling a set of Edelbrock Performer RPM heads that are ported and have had the valves backclipped. There is a small problem with them so I would sell it them to you for cheaper than that guy wants.

But either way, 725 for a set of aluminum heads is a decent price. They will out perform stockers considerably which is really what you are after anyways right?

They really suck for flow.

My car ran 12.301 with a 1.67 60ft with stone stock edel performer heads/e-cam-performer intake, 3.55 rear gear.. oh ya and the A/C was on when I made my trip to and from the track.

when I put a whopping 8lbs of boost on it, it made 427.7 to the rear tire before it ran out of fuel on the 24lb injectors.

My car weights 3360 with driver.

they aren't the best flowing head, but if the price is right, you can run 11's with them on nuts.

It's funny to hear how many people would look at my car and saw, " oh its just the standard edels."

they work great for the street, but if you want some super screamer-- then go a different route.

I beat plenty of guys with stage-two port jobs because by the time their power came into play with their mis-matched parts, I had a strong lead.

There are tons and I mean tons of magazine-proven combo's out there; use them for a solid foundation.

so ur saying for a street combo, these are plenty sufficient. this is just a street car not a track only. car, it will see track time, but if i can have a 12 second cabable car , with these heads and my other mods, then i will be more than happy. all i want is to run 11's on the juice a 100 shot. that will be doable with these heads right.

yeah i know u can run 12's with stock heads but it aint easy and i dont know how to port and polish and all that bull, so by the time i get a set of stock heads to flow well enough i could have prolly bought these, you kno, i mean thumpers just went up in price so it aint cheap nemore. but pony power just made me a good deal on his heads so i mite go that route , im still talking to him.

Like I said go with these. Those of us running fast with stock heads have a disorder that we have to prove something to ourselves. For the average guy Aluminum aftermaket peices, especially cheap ones, are your best bet. Your paying a little more for those than I paid to have my stockers upgraded (not even ported, thats a good amount more) and have a better base, less weight, and probably more power. Thats why I say grab them, for what you want they are great heads!
