are these the cheap heads with the flimsy springs? is 950 a good price for middle of nowhere, AK?

they are decent heads. not as good as afr or tw IMO. Yes, the springs as shipped are weak. You don't want an older set as they had issues with the springs eating through the cups and the valveguides. 950 used is way too much.

I got a set of TW 170's for 700 used, but gone through by a machine shop for my last fox. You can do better for the money for sure, just keep looking.
