Hey guys I was going to get one of the edlebrock power packages, the RPM package, which is the RPM heads/cam/intake, I was just wondering if I should use a comp cam instead of the edlebrock matched cam. Im assuming the cam is matched to the heads, so should it be fine or go with a comp cam?

Im not sure if the heads are assembled or not. This is going on a 93 5.0 LX.

cant comment on the edelbrock cams, never used one or heard one.

i use the heads and intake ported though, with a comp cams cam (in my sig). i am very happy with the combo for a street car. nice cam for daily driving and the power is just beyond driving rpm's if you want it. has a nice idle and i didnt notice that much of a change in gas mileage before and after with my stroker.

im saying that at least because my gas gauge is broken right now :stick: either way, i dont think you can go wrong with a nicely matched comp cam. maybe want a little smaller cam with a 302, call their tech line and ask about it. i think they will recommend the next step down, the 268 hr i believe.

I basicly used one on a 331 that i have. I ran it with the performer heads, RPM intake and Comp Cams XE274 cam. so, its more like your set up that your asking about rather than the RPM pacakge.
It make REAL nice power. I think that the heads are a bit of a holdback (atleast my regular performers with 2.02 valves were), but the RPMs should be a bit more flow.
