A single that big will have some serious lag time. But if you OK with that, then go for it! But im going to say that that turbo alone is $1400ish????

Ball bearing turbo's allow for much faster spool, plus the V8 torque - shouldn't be much lag at all. But I will find out more info tomorrow, this is just what I've found thus far. Hotmustang - maybe we can compare notes since it looks like we're kinda on the same path.

curiously... 2 questions here since its on topic, but hasnt been asked. turbo setups make it impossible to pass emissions correct? and second, what is the legality of having a turbo on a street setup.. meaning, even if the sniffer is not an issue, aside from cali, will most inspection guys care? assuming you have a catted X? still trying to decide turbo or KB...

I have collector plates on my car, so I don't have emissions testing. Otherwise, there are plenty of turbo'd cars out there that pass emissions with no problem. A guy that owns the local dyno has a 650 RWHP KB Cobra that passed emissions.

Hellion all the way. I wouldn't buy any other kit. Seen a 76mm kit on a cobra in person and it is truly a thing of beauty. Go to www.svtperformance.com and look up 'TRBO VNM'. He's making 750+ hp in his cobra and is also a hellion dealer.

Yea, the ball bearing turbos do spool faster and eat a little less HP...but we are only talking about a 200RPM help in spool, or so I have been told. Like 3600 VS 3800RPM full boost. But that all depends on price, if its worth it or not to YOU.

Anyways, here is what you guys will need.

Electronic boost controler (I got the turbo smart E boost 2..$475)

1 waste gate (up to 500HP use a 38MM...if your going above that you need a 42MM one so you dont have boost creep) CLICKY for one thats good to 1000HP

1 50MM BOV (SOMETHING LIKE THIS

Go on Ebay and buy the flages with gaskets for the waste gate, and the turbo.

Count up how many silicon connectors you will need.

Count up how much piping you will need

Get a SCT BA 2400 MAF

Count up how many V band kits you will need for the exhaust side

Definatly need some header flanges and header collectors

Then you guys can go down to autozone and get the hoses and clamps for everything (make sure they are good....probably be better to buy online)

You will also probably need another air filter.

Thats all I can think of right now, but im sure I missed some things...GOOD LUCK!

What will you be running for the collectors? Are you keeping your lt's or are you running new manifolds?

and what do collector plates do for you? not seeing how this will eliminate emissions testing... or are you just saying you dont haev it in your area. and KB cars will pass, sure, as they dont screw with anything exhaust side. I've been toying with this idea my self, but have been reluctant as this will be my DD and it needs to be street legal.

No I am selling them to whoever wants them (BBK ceremic). As for the collectors, I bought 2 from www.proturbokits.com ...they arent EXACTLY what we would like to see...but will work fine.

HAHA we are in the process of building our own shorty headers that look very VERY simular to the ones used in the HP kit...PIC.
