Howdy folks.

Got kind of a weird one here and I could use the collective stangnet experience.

The 94 has been acting turdy lately. Upon cold start up it would start to try to stall after about 10 seconds. If I let it idle a bit (feathering the gas), it would settle down. Then occasionally while driving it would cut out for a split second, as if someone cut the key off and right back on. The only codes I ever get are 511 (I have a chip) and 512. I dont know why I get that one (it's a KAM failure).

I had thought it might be a PIP issue so I swapped in a reman'd dizzy (I received the wrong PIP so I had to hold off on finishing the rebuild of mine). So the dizzy is still a wildcard to me (I dont trust reman's).

One night in 40*F weather, the car had run fine. Then later I went to leave on a cold motor and it was running on ~6 cylinders, smoking, and smelling like crap (I run cats). It drove a block (with severe heel/toeing) before shutting down totally. Then it would try to catch at first, and then later it would turn over super easy (like no spark was firing). While this was happening, I believe I was in FMEM because the fan came on as soon as the key was on (car off). Weird part: With the key on (car off) I could hear all the CCRM relays chattering like crazy.

As it stands, I'm kinda leaning towards a bad CCRM, but the 512 code has me thinking the EEC might be wonky (and is causing the EEC relay to chatter or not function). I've NEVER had an EEC go bad though - they are robust. It doesnt feel real likely to me.

After a tow home, the car just turned over super fast. NO chance of catching. The next morning, it started up, lumped a little while clearing its throat and ran like a top. WTF. Same two codes. PIDs look fine. I cant get it to act up to see WTP is going on.

I'd like to hear some similar experiences or folks' thoughts on this. I dont wanna shotgun parts at it, but the car is totally undependable right now.

Kinda far out of my experience, but my Cobra clone started up really rough, turned out to be partially caused by a bad PIP. Did this issue change at all after swapping in the reman'd dizzy? It would be unlikely for two PIPs to be bad in the exact same way.

You should know this one - did you run the KOEO and KOER tests?

I had a CCRM problem where the engine would power off while driving. All internal electrical was still working, but the engine would not turn over. Sometimes it would catch while still rolling, but other times I had to stop completely before the engine would turn over like nothing happened. It never smoked or ran rough, just running fine and nothing. My mechanic only found the problem when he was driving it and he tested the CCRM pins. Power going in, none coming out.

You need to check the grounds up on the upper radiator support by the battery. Chattering CCRM can be a ground for the system as the EEC-IV send the fuel pump turn on to that module. The are known to cause issues just like the one your describing. Mine did it years ago. I pulled the screws out sanded down to the metal and the ring terminal. All the problems went away instantly....

hission50..see if this helps

when i plug in my predator to check for codes...its states that codes 602,605,...are normall for tuned vechiles...

P0602 - Control Module Programming Error

P0605 - PCM Read Only Memory (ROM) error

JT, this may be a long shot but try taking you chip out and see if the car runs any better. It's free and simple. I'm sure you've already checked all your grounds and I know your grounds are top notch anyhow...

I might have a spare CCRM I can send your way if you're interested, just pay the shipping. I'd have to go back to the back to find out for sure. I MAY have a spare computer back in the back...I'll have to go and check

good luck
