EEC Reflash Results: N/A 1998 GT

I believe the additional benefit is that you will not have to re-dyno and re burn a chip for your next mods. The new reflash will "adapt" and learn. I need more info myself on this from Tim.[/QUOTE]

THat would be awesome!
Thanks for the clarification. Is the price comperable to buying a new chip?
And the only drawback I can see is if you bring your car in to the dealer, they can see the computer has been reflashed and could void your warranty.

It's less than a chip and dyno tune. PM "Cobra Killer" for a price.
Yes, the dealer would be able to tell "something" strange happened to the EEC. But at least they would know that it never had a chip. Maybe if you played dumb ......

THat's good pricewise.
And I wouldn't want to chance it with these dealers up here...playing dumb and all LOL.
Thanks for the info and have fun with your newfound power!

OK now. This is a little silly but the car has picked up a bit more power. I think it's still adapting. I will have to get dynoed soon. Since I feel most of the difference down low and mid-range, I'm not looking to much at peak but the area under the curve.

I found Cobra Killer's original EEC reflash thread that explains exactly what an "adaptive" reflash actually does:

I suspect that I feel such a difference b/c I had gotten the headswap, exhaust change, stock timing and never retuned it. I know for a fact looking at the A/F readings I was running lean. This has probably all been compensated for now.

If you live near Tim or any EFI tuner for that matter all they need to do is plug their software into your ODBII port and reflash the computer through that. THe computer will never be touched and if you need to put the stock problem back in they can do that for you. The dealership shouldnt' be able to tell you did anything because you never actually touched the computer itself.

Mr Vax and Deadlurker...thank you for the info. The link was awesome..I am excited about this. And I have a friend with OBD2 diagnostics who could reflash the computer for me to clear the new tune. Of course that would mean I would have to send it back to Tim I guess.
It sounds like a good idea though, cause I'm sure my A/F is off due to the exhaust and the computer not changing for it.

Thanks again guys!!

That's a question for Tim.
yep you're right. i'm going to send them an email after work tonight and see what we can do.

do you have any suggestions or experiences with cams and going supercharged? anything I should be wary or careful of? thanks :)

Matt,glad your happy.:)

Actually to clarify you dont have a Steeda reflash. You have a tune we came up with on the dyno .I use EFI Solutions software to reflash with...

The tune has plenty of room to grow with motor bolt ons.

1990lx,we can flash for any setup.I have 100's of tunes to give you a good baseline off of..

The same software was used to tune Micools 663rwhp 2valve...
Glad you found that thread, saves me alot of typing..............:)
