Hey guys,

Im looking for any efi kits that you guys may know of, it seems like the most likly option for me seems to be using the ford ecu with a spyder intake but i want to know if there are anyother good kits, i dont really like the edelbrock for a 600hp motor. Im looking for a kit for a 351w but i may build another 302 before the 408

Let me know guys

thanks

I think your best bet is just going with a mass air setup from a fox body stang. You can check into the holley projection setup but I dont like it. Most of the stuff will swap accept the intake from the Holley setup. With a mass air setup from a fox, all you do is need to swap lower intakes. I would stay away from a spyder unless you plan on going forced induction or have more of a high performance car. The intake is a carb intake and usually is single plane. its made for more high end performance and not low end power. For a 302 with a mild setup I would suggest using a Cobra intake or a TFS intake. There are several good intakes out there. The advantage to this style intake is the long runners that allows more low end power. You can get most of the stuff you need used and for really good prices if you shop around.

[edit] other systems you can look into are Force EFI, Imagine Injection, Holley and of course CHP sells spyder intakes. Force EFI setups usually run just over $2500 and most people use F.A.S.T systems with their setups. Imagine Injection is amazing with their fuel injected weber setup but cost $6000 for the intake. Go with a simple mass air setup :nice: [/edit]

You guys hear anything good or bad about the new Edelbrock EFI kits based on the Torker manifolds and using Motron ECUs? I overhead a discussion at my friends car club meeting back in November that they were coming out soon.

thanks for the info,

keep it coming, What i really want to do is build a 427w based turbo motor, after i come up with a build cost including tranny and rear end im gonna head down to the bank and apply for a loan, im expecting around 20-25g for all if i get it the way i want but i would like to get it into the 15-20 range if i make cuts were i can, the engine alone is looking to be about 10-15g so i want to see what i can do for the rear and tranny for 5g's.

Being that it will cost that much im thinking of just building another 302 based motor, or maybee a 351 just to get it in let alone with a turbo (concerened about room w/turbo), that way i can get the heads, and injection out of the way so that when i apply for a loan i can ask for less.

There are a lot of things that are going to complicate that set up. Thats why im looking for an efi set-up that can be transfered over that way its less to worry about later, so far my best bet looks like the ford set-up.
