Well, I got the plate from Wazee today and I threw it on. I removed the actual sensor from the valve and left it plugged in. I then took a zip tie, put it over the plunger and around the base of the sensor tightening the zip tie just enough so that the plunger sunk in about a 1/4 inch. i then wrapped a little electrical tape around the zip tie to keep it in place and tucked the sensor behind the head. I blocked off the vacuum line, fired the car up and viola!, no ce light. Passenger side of the engine looks cleaner and you cant even see the sensor.

Can you post pics of this? Please forgive for the ignorant questions but this car will no longer pass a smog test correct? Thanks in advance.

You will need both EGR and smog to pass emissions. Maybe not so much the smog as EGR. But if they do a visual check then you fail.

Maryland only checks to see that the cats are in place. Removing the egr will not cause the car to fail due to increased emissions, but if your state does a visual inspection, you probably will granted they know what to look for. Sorry, I don't have a digital camera to get pics.

I just used a piece of alluminum plate I cut to block off my EGR where the sensor was... then I cut the pipe and smashed it and folded it over to block it off at the header...worked out well.

on my shorties i used to have, i used the stock hose end cap, put a penny in it (don't laugh, it worked) and it sealed up just fine.

It can throw a check engine light when you block this off. I have an autologic chip and had the EGR function turned off and no problems. I guess thats why you guys are leaving the EGR sensor plugged in?

i don't know how much the wazee piece cost you, but a 351 cleveland fuel pump block off plate fits perfectly. i got one at napa for a few bucks, and it worked perfectly.
