I just ordered Eibach sportlines, BBK caster camber plates, and a Flowmaster catback for my 91 LX. Are there any other modifications i need in order to run these springs? can i get away with using stock length endlinks? I have read that sometimes you need to install offset rack bushings or a bumpsteer kit...this car is my beater so ill take it as it comes i guess...No matter what it will be better than having no exhaust and a broken rear spring lol.
Thanks,
Colin

Lowered mine a mo ago and even the slightest dip I hit - I rub. I'd get new struts too if I were you. Can't do it now though, no $.

I second spring isolators ... they do improve ride quality as well.

I've heard the BBK c/c plates don't hold up for very long.
You can get the Maximum Motorsports units for 189 shipped from www.mustangtuning.com

I also recommend doing the offset rack bushing or a bumpsteer tie rod kit when dropping as much as the Sportlines do ...
At least when driving at higher speeds you won't get it, which is more crucial than city traffic anyways.

The more stable you make it, the better right.

I run sportlines and no rubbing so far (255 40 17 front with 17X8's and 275 40 17 17x9's) Going to a regualr aliment shop will not tell you if you need offest rack bushings or bumpsteer kits, you need one with a bumpsteer gauge. I have solid ofset rack bushings in my car right now

Thanks for all the input...My struts and shocks should hold up for a few months at least there pretty good now...i mean the fronts are only kyb gr2's and the rear are the gas adjust kyb's...I hope the bbk ones hold up decent, its too late i allready ordered them...Im also used to a stiff ride, my last car was a vw fox dumped on vogtland 60mm race springs and bilstein sport dampeners...I like a stiff ride, and a car that can handle. where can i get the spring isolators at like napa or carquest, i alllready out order through summit and im not going to order just isolators....if i just install the springs will they just make noise? i never had any isolators in my fox and that never made noise.

Well it is metal on metal without the isolators ... and the cups on the arms were not designed to cradle the springs perfectly. The cups are designed larger in diameter to have an isloator on the spring ... without an isolator it just seems like too much of a gamble to risk over $50 worth of poly isolators

Besides, the Sportline springs are a progressive rate which makes the spring a little longer than a specific rate spring ...
I've heard they usually require a spring compressor to install them up front ...
Without a compressor they probably require some busted knuckles and a bag full of curses.

Your local parts store/speed shop should be able to order Energy Suspension isolators ... they probably don't have any in stock.
They will usually price match the Summit/Jegs price ...
They might have factory isolators or able to order them quickly, but factory isolators 'give' too much and will slush handling a slight bit more.

i Have the sportslines and kyb shocks, they are okay rub a little with 245 45's and i have had no problems with the bbk cc plates, but i would put in your plans a set of blistiens(sp) from maximum motorsports, i have talked to them several times and that is the shock/strut combo they recommend, i have to get springs too becuase they are the older saggy eibach's but that is a different thred, Also it will look sweet when you get um on there

The Sportlines drop the car a bit more than Pro-Kits (which I have) so as others have said I would definately get the offset rack bushings. Bump steer is really annoying.

I have sportlines and I don't have C/C plates, no bumpsteer, no rack offset bushings. Car rides perfectly straight and alignment is dead on (alignment shop).

Whoever told you that is full of shyt. Sportlines are in no way longer than stock springs. THey fit in with no compressor. Infact, you have to hold them in place while jacking up the lowering control arm so they don't fall out. When taking the old ones out just lower the lower control arm (front) as low as you can. Becareful as they might shoot out on you. If not, then use something on the back side to tap them out. I used a long pry car and pried up on the middle of the spring and they just popped out. No real tension on them as they are pretty much let all the way out.
Another for install new spring isolators on the rears as they are usually pretty chewed up. The front.... if they look good then leave them. Mine were just fine in the front. Also, you can squirt a little lube on the isolator where they contact the car and this will eliminate some squeaks as well. Good luck. You'll love the way the car handles. I also recommend new struts and shocks as well as subframes if you don't already have them.

oh, and not all are lucky like me when it comes to no C/C,bumpsteer etc. Every car is different, I just got lucky and didn't need them. I might throw them on once I get my 5 lug done though.

I never said they were longer than the factory progressive rate springs, I said they are longer than a specific rate spring. You'll also notice I put this guy= after the sentence.

First time I've ever heard that about having to hold the spring in place.

Guys I've inquired about them all told me they can be done without a compressor, but they're a b*tch that way.
I don't have sportlines, so I don't know.

In a thread on 4.6 tech, a lot of us were under the impression that the Sportlines have changed within the last couple of years ... just from everyone's experience with them. Many are under the impression that Eibach revised the spring rates from specific to progressive a couple years ago

IDK, I'm just telling you all I've heard/read ... I was going to go with them until I did tons of research (which I always like to do) and then switched my spring decision.

my bad, they still don't need a spring compressor. The ride on them is fantastic.
