Electrical Problem?

My girlfriend (Exploding Turtle) has a 3.8L and tonight when she got here she showed me that her dome light won't go off after shutting the doors and everything else possible. I don't know much about the new electrical systems and I was wondering if anyone knew what the problem could be.

It's the mechanical switch inside the door jam. Take it out, clean it up, and spray some silicon spray on it, and then try it out again.

The knob for the headlights, turn it left and make sure it isn't turned on? Just a suggestion, maybe you have tried turning it off already.

That's funny. I forgot all about that!

Well it might be wise for him to check the light is actually off first. I know I thought that was funny. My ex girlfriend had the same problem with her 2003 GT. So I went and checked it out, yeah the knob was turned so the overhead light stayed on.

But if that doesn't work, then it may be the door, like you said.

Haha yeah, we just checked the lights today and everything was off. It's probably the switch in the door jam... does this kind of thing happen often with 3.8l mustangs? (around the year 2000)
