I dont think there is. I inspected them as best I could. I am not sure what that would do, but metal shavings in anything is not good. If those 2 hoses (fittings) are nothooked up. WOuld that cause the car to run bad?. I started it to test the new belt and compressor. Now I got a surging idle. I am thinking because I dont have those hoses hooked up. Thats really the only change.

I bought 2 cans of r12 for $20 bucks the other day

Just a simple question (not trying to take over the thread) but can a compressor cause more friction (even not engaged) than normal. Mine seems a bit harder to spin freely than it should be How can I make it or help it spin freely for cheap? Dumb question...I know

No, it should not. That is an indication that the bearing is going bad.
Cheapest way is to find someone that took their compressor off and will give it to you for little or no money.

Crap I was afraid of that. My car is running like crap now. Time to look at that "surging idle" sticky.

Thanks all
