emergency brake cable adjustment

I'm having a problem installing new shoes on the rear brakes of my 91 GT. The left side emergency brake seems to still be engaged a little. I was wondering if anyone had info on how to cure this problem. I have one of the manuals and it says there is an adjustment nut by the equalizer but I can't seem to find it, any help would be great.

They book is talking about the earlier cars. On the 87 up cars, there is no adjustment except at the rear drums. There is a self adjusting mechanism as part of the ebrake handle to automatically adjust some, but there is no manual adjustment like they had on the 79-86 handles. You have to adjust it at the brake drums. All of the ebrake cables are fixed lengths and can not be adjusted.
