How much of the factory emission system can be removed without any major problems or Is there a way to trick the computer to think it's all still there.I have a 94GT and know the computer controls everything but i want to get rid of all the BS in the engine compartment like the smog pump and EGR stuff to clean it up a little.

Dean, You may want to ask around. I had the same question the other night and had several stanger's tell me that it creates no extra horse by removing it and that it closes (or Helps) in "closed loop" . The post is not but 4/5 days back at most. After discussion I am going to leave mine as is. Just my opinion...:D

By the way Luke, Opal Frost..........Silver'ish color......Someone posted all the colors for our year the other night and I did not see silver so I am assuming Frost is it...? Not a color freak.........just a freak..... lol

if you have cats, the air pump is kinda necessary to keep them healthy. without the air, they can't do their thing and the plates can get clogged and stuff. eventually it can become an exhaust restriction.

no cats = no need for air pump.

egr adds exhaust gases to the intake on part throttle; higher temps in the combustion chamber are supposed to help lower NOX, another emissions thing.

You can remove all of it, but you have to use a chip or tuner to turn off the EGR functions in the ECU, or you will risk detonating.
i have never heard about a risk of detonation before ... please elaborate.

happened to me. my tube was leaking and i did not feel like paying 53 for a new one. capped everything off, used the plunger method. no CEL, but pinged all the time. coughed up the money for the tube, no more pinging.
