Engine being ****ty

I have a 65 stang with a 200 6cyl engine. I can turn the engine over and keep the car running only if i floor the gas. It will also stay running if i have the choke pulled all the way out so the car is running at max rpms. However if i start it and dont press the gas there is no idle. I have tried everything from changing the points to rebuilding the carburateor so if anyone has any idea what the hell is going on let me know thanks.

I am kind of lost here. Are you saying that you need the choke to on for you car to run? When you rebuilt the carb, did you just take it apart to replace gaskets, or did you do anything else?

vaccum leak?
stuck carb float?
did not tighten carb bolts?

Doubt that it is an ignition problem.
