Engine dying

07 4.6, 6 speed. Recently the engine will die if I kick it out of gear and coast after sustained cruise speed. Starts right back up. Engine wavers around 4-600 then dies. If I feather the throttle a bit it will settle in around 700 and doesn’t die.
What do you think would cause this?

Pull EEC Codes

The lack of a CEL light does [not] mean that there are no codes.

If there are truly, "no codes" then you will get a code that indicates that there are, "no codes".
