I picked up a 5.0 and 3spd AOD im going to put into an 85 RX-7, it suppose to have came out of a 95 Mustang GT, it has an AOD-E? thats shot, cast iron heads that look like they were changed recently, casting numbers are D80E AB, it has roller lifters and factory headers

i pulled the pan, going to change the oil pump just in case, said it had low oil psi but ran good, the pistons look newer, and have TRW on them, is that factory? im being told that it isnt

also, where is the block casting numbers.. i cant see to find them..., my family and friends are all chevy guys >.> not much help from them and i dont know anything about fords either

any help will be appreciated

Edit: the only numbers i could find on the crank read, E7AE-AA and 2MAE, came looks new aswell and doesnt have Ford anywhere on it, nor any numbers??

Well the heads are older heads. D8's are 1978 heads. Factory heads are E7's.

Block casting numbers are in the area where the headers are towards the rear. They should begin with E7 if it's a 95 engine

found the numbers, i think...

i see E7TE with CA under it and a 5 under that, also see 8B6(i think) between two little round things, i assume thats the manufacture date maybe?

im going to run the engine carbureted for now, going to try and get a factory intake, since its only temporary, the AOD likewise, the goal for now is to get the engine into the car

any suggestions for getting it running with a carb cheaply? i know i need another dist, but is that it? also.. will the intake from a 351W fit? i doubt it, but i figured i should ask anyway
